The Most Successful Franchises in Super Bowl History
The New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Pittsburgh Steelers share the record for the most Super Bowl championships with six titles each. The Patriots' six titles all came in the Tom Brady era (2001–2019), cementing New England as the dynasty of the 21st century. The Steelers' six titles span the 1970s (four Super Bowls in six years) through the 2000s, while the 49ers won five in a row from 1982 to 1995 before adding a sixth.
The Kansas City Chiefs have rapidly built one of the great dynasties in modern NFL history, winning four Super Bowls between 2020 and 2024 under Patrick Mahomes. The Philadelphia Eagles won their first championship at Super Bowl LII (2018) and added a dominant second title at Super Bowl LIX (2025), establishing themselves as a perennial powerhouse.
