Tom Brady: The MVP King
Tom Brady won the Super Bowl MVP award five times — in Super Bowls XXXVI (2002), XXXVIII (2004), XLIX (2015), LI (2017), and LV (2021). No other player comes close to matching that total. Brady's ability to perform at his peak in the biggest moments of the biggest game is the defining characteristic of his legendary career.
Quarterbacks Dominate the Award
Quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl MVP award in the vast majority of games since the award was established. The only player from a losing team to win the MVP was linebacker Chuck Howley of the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V (1971). Howley's performance was so dominant — two interceptions — that voters had no other choice, making him the only defensive player in history to win MVP from the losing side.
